Enterprise mobility, if seen from a broader perspective not only refers to mobile devices, but also to the mobility of corporate data. Today, employees at all levels are increasingly being connected via smart phones and tablets to enhance the corporate data. Achieving high levels of mobility without burdening IT, enforcing high level security without hampering work in this environment can be an administrative nightmare.

A recent survey conducted by CMO Council confirms that more than 260 million people in the United States, over the age of 13 own mobile devices and a sizable percentage of this people use their mobile for enterprise related activity. “At MobileIron, we have built a complete, well-architected enterprise mobility management platform to meet the customer requirements,” begins Bob Tinker, President and CEO, MobileIron. Headquartered in Mountain View, CA, MobileIron provides comprehensive solutions across mobile application management, content management and device management for rapid innovation, and transformation of the enterprises.

MobileIron helps their customers through its wide range of innovative solutions which allows it to secure and manage devices and apps. MobileIron’s flagship product, MobileIron Core integrates with the backend enterprise IT systems and enables IT to define security and management policies for mobile devices. Another valuable product, MobileIron Sentry, addresses three fundamental needs of the clientele: mobile security, scalability and user experience, by managing encrypts. “As consumer devices gain acceptance in the enterprise, IT needs a new generation of enterprise mobility management solutions to secure and manage mobile devices,” explains Tinker.

The company’s solution for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives, allows end-users to use personally owned mobile devices for work. These smart, fast and comprehensive offerings have been constantly catering the needs of their clientele, pushing the company into a different league.

For instance, Standard Life Group, a long-term savings and investments organization headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland had total assets under administration of over £296 billion, at the end of December 2014. The company had to change its processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness worldwide; it deployed new devices that could support quicker and smarter ways of addressing the industry challenges. The company was in search of a more robust Enterprise Mobility Management EMM solution— and selected MobileIron. With the MobileIron platform in place, Standard Life Expanded mobile capabilities for 4,000 users worldwide enabled employees around the world to access corporate documents and files from anywhere and have given users secure access to consume content on Microsoft SharePoint. It also improved the work/ life balance that allowed them the flexibility to get their job done remotely.
