Proprietary Mobility Implementation Platform Serves the Needs of Large Enterprises

Chris Hill, Founder, and CEO
Although the wireless cellular networking market has made rapid strides over the years, most of its progress has been around the consumer market rather than the business realm. This is because mobile carriers follow a growth model favoring the consumer segment that accounts for 80 percent of the total market share. So, more often than not, enterprises have to work with mobile data programs that are primarily designed for personal users. What businesses need is a seamless, multi-carrier platform complete with management and reporting tools, simplified pricing and billing, as well as superior support.

The mobility solution must work across multiple carrier networks, and support the various mobile devices and applications that companies use for managing everything from field services to their supply chain inventory. This need spurred the inception of a multi-billion dollar industry dedicated to solving the complexities enterprises face when purchasing and managing wireless services. A pioneer in the space, DataXoom offers a platform specifically designed to meet and exceed the mobile data needs of enterprises. Similar to a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), DataXoom makes connecting to the largest, fastest, and most reliable networks in the U.S. more cost- effective and easier. DataXoom is the first to contract with the carriers to support what they call “purpose-built” solutions. In the enterprise market, purpose-built means an LTE-based solution having many mobility partners that are required to solve a mission critical business problem. Purpose-built roll-outs are usually complex and rely on what DataXoom calls the Mobility Eco-system. The mobility ecosystem includes several critical mobility partners including OEM’s, carriers, MDM’s, EMM’s, ISV’s, VAR’s, and resellers. Purpose-built deployments have such complexities that the basic LTE component is really just a commodity. This is where DataXoom’s platform plays the key role within the mobility ecosystem.

DataXoom has developed a carrier-grade billing, rating, and provisioning platform that enable the management of an enterprise’s mobility ecosystem with ease. Through a single online interface, businesses can manage users across multiple wireless networks and services into one single, simplified experience. “Our carrier partnerships and proprietary platform give our clients access to mobile data services whenever they need it and for as long as they need it,” says Chris Hill, founder and CEO of DataXoom. The company’s strong ecosystem of strategic partners ensures its customers have access to everything they need.

DataXoom is building direct API integration so that its platform can seamlessly become a part of a client’s existing systems. Clients can then manage multiple mobile devices, pool data across all users, set data thresholds, and receive a consolidated monthly bill without exiting their current IT environment. DataXoom continues to leverage its proprietary platform by adding several integration partners, including VMWare, ServiceNow, SOTI, MobileIron, Cradlepoint, and SFDC. Hill explains that since enterprises typically have to manage several systems for a multitude of operations, simply adding another solution on top of that would needlessly lead to another layer of complexity. This is why DataXoom’s goal is to become “almost invisible” while continuing to provide value.

In addition to its enterprise mobility integration platform, DataXoom provides straightforward and business-friendly mobile data plans. This is possible because DataXoom purchases bulk access to network services at wholesale rates from network carriers at a lower cost. Then, DataXoom offers flexible pricing options that include pay-as-you-go plans, and gigabyte and terabyte plans that can be customized for specific business needs. “You receive the exact network experience as you would when dealing with the carrier directly with the added benefit of lower costs and scalability,” adds Hill. And, it also helps the carriers as they can maintain higher margins as a majority of their costs related to advertising and subsidizing cell phone prices are no longer required.

Due to simple yet effective mobility solutions, DataXoom has become a provider of choice for many organizations across the U.S. In one instance, DataXoom helped a trucking company—with 5,500 trucks—stay connected on the road. DataXoom worked closely with the client to map out custom rate structures for their LTE services, while enabling the customer to manage their LTE connectivity and mobile device management services from within their existing CRM. The company travels across North America, so carrier flexibility and managing multiple mobility eco-system partners was a basic requirement. The DataXoom platform streamlined managing data usage, billing and reporting while supporting the ongoing management of the deployment.

DataXoom has been honored again by AT&T, winning the 2019 Strategic Product Award for Mobility Corporate Responsible Users. Time and again, DataXoom has proven successful in providing value to its clients who demand business-centric mobile data solutions across multiple partners but refuse to compromise on network coverage. Driven by this conviction, DataXoom shall continue to steer ahead of the competition and deliver innovative mobility solutions.

DataXoom Two-way Integration With Salesforce Extends LTE to the Enterprise

Tuesday, June 20, 2023

MANCHESTER, N.H -DataXoom, the leading mobility provider dedicated to purpose-built LTE mobile deployments, has implemented its two-way mobility platform within the Salesforce environment. Salesforce CRM software is now integrated as a DataXoom plugin available to DataXoom mobility customers, enabling them to lower costs for enterprise-wide LTE device integration.

“Unlike other mobility tools, DataXoom provides a higher level of customer convenience by embedding simple API integrations within the platforms customers are already using, such as the powerful Salesforce environment used to drive so many applications at the enterprise level,” said DataXoom CEO Chris Hill. “The DataXoom-Salesforce integration shortcuts and simplifies the mobility provisioning process for the customer.”

With this partnership, Salesforce customers can now customize their workflows and processes to activate and deactivate devices seamlessly with instant triggers. Customers will no longer need to log into separate carrier portals for manual device activation, and then return to Salesforce to complete their workflow tasks.

With the built-in API integration between Salesforce and the DataXoom platform, LTE carrier data can now be pushed into Salesforce via DataXoom, so any workflows created within Salesforce are now bringing data in from the carrier at lower-cost LTE-level plan rates. For applications requiring only LTE-level data support, rather than the higher-bandwidth, higher-cost 5G data level, large-scale applications can be deployed to far more devices affordably when only LTE bandwidth rates are used.

“We serve so many applications for logistics, retail, mobile healthcare, field service and restaurant/service industries, to name just a few, that are optimized for LTE bandwidth functionality rather than anything that would require 5G deployment at 2X-3X the cost, or where 5G connectivity is not fully in place,” Hill explained. “This is a fundamental productivity boost for large-scale enterprises that need to extend applications throughout their entire workforce but in the past have been forced to restrict access due to 5G bandwidth costs. That’s no longer necessary with DataXoom’s LTE platform extension, which makes wide-scale connectivity so much more affordable.”
